    上海外國語大學猶太研究所正式成立于2018年12月27日。2019年6月12日,在猶太研究所與全球文明史研究所聯合主辦的“第三屆猶太研究國際研討會”上,校長李巖松教授為研究所揭牌?,F任所長為教育部“長江學者”特聘教授喬國強。

    猶太研究所服務于學校的整體戰略,主要從事猶太文學與文化研究。研究所從現有研究人員和條件的實際情況出發,擬進一步鞏固和加強我校在猶太文學研究方面的特色與優勢地位,并努力將其發展成為我國猶太文學研究的重要基地之一。與此同時,研究所還將積極開展文學理論、比較文學、敘事理論和區域國別等領域的研究。研究所未來將逐漸拓展研究方向,擬在希伯來語/意第緒語文學、以色列研究等方面吸納更多的研究人才,以實現研究團隊的可持續發展。

    人員隊伍

    喬國強:英國諾丁漢大學博士,現為上海外國語大學教授、教育部“長江學者”特聘教授,美國文學研究會副會長、中國中外文藝理論學會敘事學分會常務副會長、上海市外國文學學會常務副會長。喬國強教授為我國著名的猶太文學研究專家,其在美國猶太文學和敘述學等研究領域著述豐碩,在國內外具有很高的影響力。喬國強教授近年來著有The Jewishness of Isaac Bashevis Singer(2003)、《美國猶太文學》(2008, 修訂版2019)、《貝婁學術史研究》(2014)、《敘說的文學史》(2017)、《美國文學批評史》(2019)等多部具有影響力的學術著作,并在Neohelican, Comparative Literature and Culture, Comparative Literature Studies, European Review, ANQ, Journal of Ethnic of American Literature等國際知名期刊以及《外國文學評論》等國內核心期刊發表論文多篇,其在猶太文學、敘事學、文學史等方面的研究受到國內外學界的廣泛認可和高度評價。

    李鋒:南京大學博士,美國哥倫比亞大學富布萊特研究學者,現為上海外國語大學教授、“志遠卓越學者”,兼任中國外國文學學會比較文學與跨文化研究會理事、上海市外國文學學會理事(教學研究委員會秘書長)、鄭州大學英美文學研究中心兼職研究員,其主要研究方向為猶太文學與英美文學。李鋒教授近年來在Interdisciplinary Studies of Literature、《外國文學研究》、《外國文學》、《復旦學報》等刊物上發表學術論文數篇,譯有《圣經的敘事藝術》(2006)、《后現代主義詩學》(2009,合譯)等作品,其在猶太文學、或然歷史小說研究、文學與商業文化等方面的研究已形成自身特色。

    路程:復旦大學博士,美國杜克大學訪問學者,上海外國語大學博士后?,F為上海外國語大學猶太研究所助理研究員。研究方向為當代西方文論與美學理論、猶太文化與文學、比較詩學。譯有《導讀阿多諾》(2016),在《文藝理論研究》、《中國比較文學》、《華東師范大學學報》等核心學術刊物發表論文多篇。目前主持教育部項目“勒內·吉拉爾的文學理論研究”。

    孔偉:北京外國語大學博士,美國賓夕法尼亞州立大學富布賴特訪問學者,現為上海外國語大學猶太研究所在站博士后,研究方向為猶太文學與文化、俄羅斯及東歐猶太移民敘事??讉ソ陙韰⑴c我國“一帶一路”沿線國家文化譯介工作,負責《特立尼達和多巴哥》(2016)、《尼日利亞》(2017)、《埃塞俄比亞》(2017)三冊圖書的譯注;另合編教材《俄羅斯文化與社會》(2013,俄文)一部,在《英美文學研究論叢》、《外國語文》、《四川戲劇》、《譯林》等外語類核心期刊發表學術論文多篇。

    劉永盛:上海外國語大學希伯來語專業本科畢業生,現為上海外國語大學猶太研究所科研助理,協助研究和行政工作。

    學術聯系與合作

    1. 猶太研究所與上海猶太難民紀念館建立了緊密的合作關系,并將充分利用其豐富的館藏文獻和檔案,開展“上海猶太難民文學與大屠殺文學”的特色研究,還原歷史真相,充分展現中國人民在“二戰”期間的歷史貢獻和人道主義精神,同時努力突顯美國猶太文學研究的中國元素與中國聲音。

    2. 猶太研究所目前已與美國哥倫比亞大學、賓夕法尼亞大學、杜蘭大學、弗吉尼亞大學、布蘭代斯大學、波士頓學院,以色列海法大學、特拉維夫大學等國外知名高校的相關機構和學者建立起良好的合作關系,并同中國社科院外國文學研究所、南京大學猶太和以色列研究所、山東大學猶太教與跨宗教研究中心等國內院所和機構保持著緊密的聯系與交流。

    3. 經猶太研究所牽頭,上外與匈牙利科學院人文研究中心文學研究所簽署國際合作協議,將在學術研究、人員互訪、人才培養等方面開展深度合作。

    主要學術活動

    上外猶太研究所開辦有“猶太研究系列講座”,旨在推動有關猶太文學、歷史、哲學、文化方面的學術研究和交流。該系列講座側重英美猶太文學研究、以色列文化與文學研究、上海猶太難民研究、猶太大屠殺研究、猶太移民研究等重要話題。除研究所自身成員外,還有來自國內外其他高校的知名專家學者應邀講學。該系列講座吸引了我校師生以及來自復旦大學、同濟大學、上海財經大學等兄弟院校的師生,已成為上外校園文化建設的一個特色品牌,并形成良好的對外社會影響。

    猶太研究所是“猶太問題國際研討會”的倡導者和主辦者,并成功組織并舉辦了四屆研討會,為國內外專家學者提供了重要的學術交流平臺,極大推動了我國猶太研究的發展。

    2019年6月,猶太研究所與上外全球文明史研究所合作,共同舉辦了題為“跨學科視野下的猶太研究”的第三屆“猶太研究國際研討會”。在這次會議上,李巖松校長為本所的成立揭牌并致賀辭。這次會議有來自中國、美國、以色列、日本等多個國家的多位學者參會。


    ABOUT THE INSTITUTE

     

    Institute of Jewish Studies at Shanghai International Studies University (SISU) was established on December 27, 2018. Professor Qiao Guoqiang is the Dean of the Institute.

    On June 12, 2019, Professor Li Yansong, the President of SISU, unveiled the bronze plaque of the Institute at the opening ceremony of “The Third International Conference on Jewish Studies” co-hosted by Institute of Jewish Studies and Institute for the Global History of Civilizations. 

    Aimed at serving SISU’s overall project of development, the Institute is now engaged primarily in the study of Jewish literature and culture. In the meantime of consolidating SISU’s traditional strengths and the position as one of the major platforms in Jewish studies in China, the Institute also commits to carrying out research in the fields of literary theory and comparative literature and nation and area studies. The Institute will gradually expand its research areas and build expertise in Jewish literary criticism, Hebrew/Yiddish literature, and Israeli studies and therefore, to ensure a sustainable development.

    OUR FACULTY

    QIAO Guoqiang: Ph.D. (University of Nottingham, U.K.), “Changjiang Scholar” Distinguished Professor of English Language and Literature. Professor Qiao is also working as the Vice President of China Association for the Study of American Literature, the Executive Vice President of the Narratology Committee of China Association of Theories of Literature and Arts, and the Executive Vice President of Shanghai Foreign Literature Association. His researches on Jewish literature and narratology are highly influential at home and abroad. Professor Qiao is author of several critically acclaimed monographs, such as The Jewishness of Isaac Bashevis Singer (2003), American Jewish Literature (2008, revised version in 2019), A Study of the History of Saul Bellow Studies (2014), The Narrated Literary History (2017), A History of American Literary Criticism (2019) and many translated works, etc. He has also published widely on such international journals as Neohelican, Comparative Literature and Culture, Comparative Literature Studies, European Review, ANQ, Journal of Ethnic American Literature as well as China’s top journals of literary studies. His researches on Jewish literature, narratology, and literary history have been widely acknowledged and highly acclaimed in the academia.

    LI Feng: Ph.D. (Nanjing University, China), Fulbright Research Scholar (Columbia University), and Professor at SISU. Professor Li is also the council member of Shanghai Foreign Literature Association, the council member of China Association of Comparative Literature and Cross-cultural Studies, and the research fellow at the Center for British and American Literature Studies, Zhengzhou University. His major areas of interest are Jewish literature and American literature. Professor Li has published extensively on such key journals as Interdisciplinary Studies of Literature, Foreign Literature Studies, Contemporary Foreign Literature, and Fudan Journal. His translations include Narrative Art in the Bible (2006), A Poetics of Postmodernism (2009), etc. He is now conducting researches chiefly on Jewish literature, alternate history fictions, and business culture in literature.

    LU Cheng: Ph.D. (Fudan University, China), Visiting Scholar (Duke University), Postdoc (Shanghai International Studies University), and now assistant research fellow at Institute of Jewish Studies, SISU. Lu Cheng’s major research areas are contemporary western literary theories and aesthetic theories, Jewish culture and literature, comparative poetics. She has translated An Introduction to Theodor W. Adorno (2016) and published extensively on such key journals as Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, Chinese Comparative Literature, ECNU Journal, etc. She’s now working on the project of René Girard’s literary theory funded by Ministry of Education of China.

    KONG Wei: Ph.D. (Beijing Foreign Studies University, China), Fulbright Visiting Scholar (Pennsylvania State University), and Postdoc at Institute of Jewish Studies, SISU. His current research areas are Jewish literature and culture, immigrant narratives by writers from Russia and East Europe. Kong Wei has annotated three books Trinidad and Tobago (2016), Nigeria (2017) and Ethiopia (2017) for cultural exchanges among “the belt and road” countries. His other academic outcomes include a co-edited book Культура и общесто России (2013) and broad publications in such key literary journals as English and American Literary Studies, Foreign Language and Literature, Sichuan Drama, Translations, etc.

    LIU Yongsheng: An undergraduate majoring in Hebrew from Shanghai International Studies University, now works as research assistant in the Institute of Jewish Studies, assisting in research and administrative work.


    COLLABORATIONS

    1. The Institute has established close relationship with Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, whose large collection of documents and archives will provide valuable resources for the Institute’s research on Shanghai Ghetto Literature and Holocaust Literature. The purpose of such research is to unveil the historical facts and exhibit the friendship established between Chinese people and the Jewish refugees during the war.

    2. The Institute has established close academic relationships with scholars from Columbia University, University of Pennsylvania, Tulane University, University of Virginia, Brandeis University, Boston College, University of Haifa, Tel Aviv University, Institute of Foreign Literature Studies (CASS), the Diane and Guilford Glazer Institute for Jewish and Israel Studies (Nanjing University), Center for Judaic and Inter-Religious Studies (Shandong University) and Jewish and Israel Studies at Sichuan International Studies University.

    3. On the initiative of the Institute, SISU signed the international agreement with the Institute of Literary Studies of the Research Centre for the Humanities of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The agreement aims at promoting academic cooperation for the exchange of students, teaching staff/researchers and members of the technical-administrative staff.


    MILESTONES

    The Institute of Jewish Studies hosts “Jewish Studies Series Lectures”, whose aim is to promote the academic research and exchange in Jewish literature, history, philosophy and culture. The primary focus is currently placed on such topics as Jewish literature in Britain and the U.S., Israeli culture and literature, Shanghai Jewish refugees, Holocaust studies, and Jewish Immigration studies.

    The lectures delivered by renowned scholars from home and abroad have attracted scholars and students from many other institutions of higher learning, including Fudan University, Tongji University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Now the “Jewish Studies Series Lectures” has become a distinctive brand of SISU’s campus culture and produced very positive social impact.

    In June 2019, the Institute organized the “Third International Conference on Jewish Studies” in collaboration with SISU's Institute for the Global History of Civilizations. The theme of this conference is “Jewish Studies from an Interdisciplinary Perspective”. Scholars from China, U.S., Israel and Japan attended the event. The conference provided an important platform of academic exchange for scholars from various cultures and disciplines, and its success tremendously promoted the development of China’s Jewish studies.
